The Global DevOps Bootcamp is a global event that will be held on Saturday June 15 and is all about DevOps on the Microsoft Stack. Centrally organized by Xpirit and Solidify and organised and run by the Brisbane Azure DevOps User Group.
During this 1-day event we will join (Microsoft) DevOps communities all around the world to talk, learn and play with DevOps concepts. Goals of the GlobalDevOpsBootcamp are:

  • DevOps in general
  • Insights into where we are heading when it comes to DevOps and new technologies
  • Get people's hands dirty and let them play with all the good Microsoft DevOps stuff

The theme of this year is: You build it, you run away. it!

Those of you who have joined us at Global DevOps Bootcamp previous years know we have been exercising how to build modern apps using Continuous delivery and DevOps practices. But you are not done when you have built your app. In DevOps you do not run away, but you run your app! So this year we're shifting gears and will take your skills to the next level by levering Rugged DevOps principles, with focus on three important phases:

  • Detect. Get insights into how your system behave to make you and your users aware of any anomalies.
  • Respond. Connect with your users to make sure users are aware of the issue.
  • Recover. Action remediation to get your system back into operation.

You should come prepared with a laptop but most importantly curiosity and a mindset to learn and improve, because we take care of the rest. Although we use some Microsoft tools, all concepts and practices are tool agnostic. So regardless whether you develop in C#, deploy with Jenkins or operate with Kubernetes this will be a great day to get into Rugged DevOps.

We will kick off with an introduction of a well-known authority in the DevOps space, followed by a keynote from the local presenter about where we are heading with DevOps.

By using like scnenarios and disruptions you will learn to overcome several challenges and experience how to not only build a solution, but also run it as a true DevOps team would. It is afantastic opportunity to get your hands dirty and sharing experience and knowledge around Azure and DevOps practices with other community members.

Of course you won't be on your own. During the day you will be supported and guided by local experts who are active in the Microsoft Community.

We are very excited about bringing this to the community again this year.

Stay Tuned!
